phantom of the opera(live musical)
My sweet cousin bought me a ticket to go watch it. It's my most favorite present ever. It was at the star city at the casino area.
I'm usually a hard person when it comes to music -perfectionist. But i totally enjoyed this musical. It was far better then the billy elliot or swan lake(ballet) which I saw.
I was at the edge of my seat. Sometimes realizing my mouth open. My eyes wide open trying not to blink in case I'll miss any part.
The props and set was super. You have remote boat/bed on the stage moving. Candles popping out from the ground, candle sticks coming out like a music stand. The music box(the monkey)- if u've watched the movie or musical, that's the important item of the story. There were fire blast, smoke covering the floor as if it being the waters, smoke bombs for disappearing acts, wrap round dresses which didn't look like wrap on at all. And the orchestra pit was like cool. I didn't go and see it though but it was up front under the stage it looked really cool from the middle of the hall.
All these makes me wanna go bck doing music theater. But 2 main female character were only 19 and 21 years old. I'm freaking 23 years old and I'm still a nobody not being able to perform. The beauty of being somebody else - the reason y I floated back into music. You just totally open your heart and voice and imagination into another world. It's the beauty of being a musician.
I'm going bck to my singing lessons. Tmr on my classical and 2 weeks later on my jazz. I find singing high notes easier in choir after suffering and straining for ages from stress and not relaxing. We'll see what my teacher says after 2 months plus of not having lessons.
Right now I'm nervous and can't wait for summer break. I'm playing the main part of mums musical in Kuching, Malaysia -> Mikado
That will be fun =) i hope friends and ppl i know will come and support.
